Nowell 342 Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree – 16" Unpainted Bisque Tree to Paint
Make a Christmas tradition of your own.
Remember the ceramic Christmas tree that came out every December?
Maybe Grandma had one glowing on an end table. Maybe it sat on top of the television or in the corner of the living room. Those little colorful lights were one of those unmistakable signs that Christmas had arrived.
The Nowell 342 Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree brings that tradition back — except this time, you get to make it your own.
At Ceramics on 23rd, we pour this tree ourselves from one of the original vintage 1970s ceramic molds we acquired. It has the wonderful old-school shape we love: big sweeping branches, beautiful molded texture and openings throughout for the classic plastic Christmas tree bulbs.
Your tree arrives unpainted, professionally cleaned and kiln-fired to Cone 03, ready for you to decorate with ceramic glaze or acrylic paint.
Paint it traditional Christmas green. Make a snowy white tree. Go retro with pink or turquoise. Antique it, glaze it, add snow to the branches — or create something completely different.
This isn't a mass-produced finished decoration.
It's your blank canvas.
And maybe someday, the tree you paint will be the one your children or grandchildren remember coming out of the Christmas boxes every year.

Poured, cleaned & fired at Ceramics on 23rd
We're not ordering these trees by the truckload from a factory.
Each one begins with liquid ceramic slip poured into the mold. After the piece is removed from the mold, we clean it by hand and fire it in our kiln to Cone 03 before it heads to you.
Because these are individually poured ceramic pieces, minor variations are normal and part of the character of traditional slip-cast ceramics.
We ship!
We carefully pack our ceramic pieces for shipping from our shop in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Shipping is calculated separately at checkout.
A tree you don't just buy — one you make.
Paint it for yourself. Spend an afternoon decorating one with Mom or Grandma. Make one as a Christmas gift. Or create a tree for a child or grandchild that they can bring out every December for years to come.
Because some Christmas decorations are pretty.
Others become part of the family.
